MotoSavvy is an online motorcycle publication dedicated to bringing the motorcycle industry closer to the heart of the public. Its primary focus is to entice the senses of the avid rider, while striving to better inform the
non-motorcyclist, with whom we share the roads, and to spotlight the many wonderful aspects of the motorcycling world and its enthusiasts.

This New Year brings great opportunities. MotoSavvy.com teams up with Business Week Online's new Autos Channel, which will feature weekly articles picked up from MotoSavvy.com.

A selection of upcoming and archived reviews, editorials and photography will be featured by Business Week Online. These will be posted simultaneously with MotoSavvy and will include a monthly motorcycling column by Rob Doyle. In return, Business Week will link readers to a number of MotoSavvy sections, referencing most of Motosavvy's News and Creative pages.

Entering the consumer based magazine world creates a huge opportunity for the motorcycle industry, flourishing in a forum that sheds positive light on the two-wheel dimension. Recently ranked among the top five on Brand Week’s Website Hot List for best performers of 2005, Business Week Online boasts a massive reader base that will undeniably be a positive resource in the MotoSavvy project –and subsequently the motorcycling industry as a whole.

In its second year, MotoSavvy.com is growing in leaps and bounds. For those of you who are familiar with the MotoSavvy project, clearly we are geared to not only the enthusiast, but also to the consumer and non-riding public alike. We envision ourselves being a tool, educating and enticing equally the broad spectrum of our population.

MotoSavvy welcomes products and services that seek marketing, as well as controversial, hot topic articles seeking to run as news or editorial features. Advertising space is available throughout our pages on the site, to a prolific spectrum of industry and consumer based businesses. A link to the directory is easily accessible via our home page.
Log on to motosavvy.com (no subscription necessary) to view editorials, news and reviews from all aspects of the motorcycling world. We offer sections, like our Rider Education page, to inform new riders on where to go for rider classes in the U.S. Our creative sections offer information on books, movies, television shows as well as listening tools, like our Sound Booth, where one can listen to an array of various motorcycle sounds. View photo galleries and download wallpapers in our Multimedia Gallery.

Our special MotoSavvy Moto-Lisa section is geared toward women in motorcycling and our Metro sections provide information on events and fashion, with a focus on the metropolitan area rider. Explore the site …and find much more.

This site is packed with information ranging from the latest in roadracing to the best for beginners - both men and women. Though based on the East Coast, Motosavvy aims to have national presence, highlighting events around the country. In their words, "Our project is a simple, yet involved one. We want to create an online outlet for moto-hungry people to come and play, learn, voice, create and most of all feel welcome. Any age, any gender. Ride one and all, whether you are just looking to find out the latest news on who's winning the races."

Whether these bikes or others will combine with high gas prices and crowded roads to get Americans to commute on two wheels remains to be seen.  Brad Bannister, a Yamaha spokesman, is not optimistic. Scooters "will always be a niche, not a mainstream thing, "he said, "and that is an unfortunate deal."

But Rob Doyle, the creator of a New York-based online motorcycle magazine called Motosavvy, disagrees. From the window of his day job at Business Week Magazine, he has seen an increasing number of scooters parked at buildings across 50th Street. Recently, Mr. Doyle said, he was test-riding a scooter, riding into Huntington, N.Y., and a guy stopped me to show his wife. He said, "I want one of those."

A great motorcycle site, Motosavvy analyses the research behind the Honda research. It turns out that a large percentage of crashes are "T-bone" crashes, when a car turns in front of a motorcycle which hits it dead on . The new airbag protects against these front-on collisions.
